Hatton Centre for Education’s purpose is to improve the quality of thinking and practice for all colleagues working in education. Our driving aim is to provide purposeful and highly effective opportunities for professional development, networking and research for those involved in chalk face education, leadership at all levels and in operational functions of life in schools.

Hatton Centre for Education has grown from the Hatton Teaching School Alliance. We are offering you the opportunity to be part of a self-improving school system, focusing on the sharing of best practice and providing support to schools and staff where needed. We begin with the premise that our offer should always lead to an improved knowledge and understanding for those who participate in anything we provide.

Hatton Centre for Education has a well-established offer of accredited professional development opportunities such as the Early Career Framework (ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQ) in all areas of teaching and learning, development of teaching and curriculum, behaviour, and in different areas of school leadership. We offer these courses as face to face and online modules alongside Best Practice Network, a leading national provider of CPD.

We are a centre for Initial Teacher Training and our extensive programme trains colleagues in the primary and secondary sector of education.

Hatton Centre for Education is proud to provide other bespoke professional development opportunities for those who work in the education sector. We tailor these to meet local demand so it is always worth looking at the professional development page and curriculum development page to see what is on offer now and what is planned for the future.

All of the professional development opportunities we provide have at their heart the recommendations made by the Education Endowment Foundation, built on recently by UCL and Ambition Institute in its own research. Any offer made by Hatton Centre for Education will always build insight and knowledge, provide an end point of goal that motivates colleagues to achieve, provide specific techniques to bring this insight to life and finally provide practical ways to put this all into practice.
