Choose our Early Career Teachers programme and your school will be joining England’s largest ECT provider with over 58,000 ECTs and their mentors, training with Ambition Institute since 2020.

We’ve been perfecting our programme with Ambition since their early pilot in 2019, funded by  the Education Endowment Foundation.

Evidence informed curriculum

Our carefully sequenced and evidence-informed ECT programme provides the foundation for early career teachers as they progress with their career. It has been designed by experts using evidence about what really works in the classroom.

Designed with flexibility in mind

We know that schools’ and trusts’ needs vary, so our ECT programme is designed with flexibility in mind. Our ‘little and often’ approach means ECTs and mentors can engage with our programme around their busy school timetable.

Benefit from Instructional Coaching

Our ECT programme includes regular Instructional Coaching sessions. Mentors provide teachers with specific, bite-sized steps to practice each week that responds to their own classroom context and practice.  Through regular, observational feedback, trainees will keep getting better over time.

Join our charitable mission

As an education charity and golden thread provider of the ITTECF and NPQs, your school will be supporting our mission to help teachers and school leaders serving children from disadvantaged backgrounds to keep getting better.

Benefits for your school

Our interactive learning platform

ECTs, mentors and induction tutors access the ECT programme through the online platform Steplab, the marketing leading professional development tool. Through Steplab, participants learn in bite-size, easy to follow steps, while mentors and tutors can easily monitor and track their learning without adding to their workload.

Tailored to the needs of your trainees

Following the introduction of the new ITTECF, we’ve improved our programme to include more specialist content for help pupils with oracy, early cognitive development and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Adaptable to different settings

ECTs and mentors can now access a wider range of training materials including specific examples for different subjects, phases and settings, particularly primary and early years pupils, providing them with a tailored, personal training pathway.

Retain your teachers

By training your ECT teachers with Ambition, you’re providing them with professional development designed for new teachers and investing in their future. The DfE found that four in five early career teachers who started an ECF based induction were retained in state schools after two years.

Gain a teacher educator

As part of our ECT programme, your mentors have access to a wide range of training resources to help them better support your ECTs. This includes a range of teacher educator materials that can be applied to benefit other departments across your school as well as your early career teachers.

Our ECT approach

By choosing our ECT programme, you’re benefiting from high quality, structured support with training based on the ‘science of learning’ and instructional coaching frameworks, as well as being able to access DfE funding.
